Should RDOs stay at the RBA?

You may have seen that the RBA has circulated a questionnaire to all employees this week, seeking your views on the use of RDOs at the Bank.

Our FSU Workplace Representatives will be submitting union members’ views over the coming fortnight.

To ensure we accurately represent your views, please take a few seconds to tell us what you think about RDOs and whether they should stay at the RBA.

Can the bank take away RDOs?

Our RDO arrangements are protected in our current Enterprise Agreement (EA). They cannot be removed without a majority of employees agreeing to give them up.

During the last round of negotiations for our EA in 2023, the FSU raised numerous concerns about the Bank’s approach to RDO arrangements – specifically, about the Bank stripping RDOs away from people shifting to part time, new starters not being offered RDOs but rather their RDOs being automatically cashed out, and there being no equitable option to shift onto or off the scheme.

No improvements were agreed to by the Bank in 2023 and existing RDO arrangements have remained in place since.

We’ll have more to say on this matter soon. In the meantime, if you’re not already an FSU member, make sure you’re part of the team that’s fighting for RBA employees today!
