Stop the violence and support our frontline workers

23 September 2021

The Finance Sector Union (FSU) condemns the violence and anti-social behaviour that we have seen in Melbourne.

Many of these individuals are not union members and they certainly do not care about their fellow Victorians.

Frontline health, emergency services, finance, retail, and public sector workers are putting their own health at risk by turning up to work every day to provide vital services for our community.

Meanwhile an irresponsible, reckless, and violent minority of extremists are rampaging through the streets of Melbourne.”

The FSU proudly supports our frontline workers.

We need to stick together and ride out these remaining few weeks before we start to re-open. We have come so far and sacrificed too much to let the behaviour of a violent mob define the work of the community through this latest lockdown.

The labour movement will not stand by and let that happen.

The FSU asks members to join with their colleagues in following expert public health advice and get vaccinated if they can.
