FSU secures meeting with Senator Jane Hume in early December

Over the last 12 months, the Finance Sector Union has worked hard to raise awareness of issues facing financial planners in Canberra.

Over the last 12 months, the Finance Sector Union has worked hard to raise awareness of issues facing financial planners in Canberra. We have arranged for planners to meet with senior Government Ministers and Shadow Ministers.

In the last week we have further secured a meeting with Senator Jane Hume, Assistant Minister for Superannuation, Financial Services.

The issues facing Planners today are serious and need to be taken seriously by policy makers. From the implications of FASEA, to the large-scale divestment and future of the industry, through to the immediate health and financial risks faced by planners at AMP; Canberra has a role to play.

We are looking forward to again advancing the interests of our members in these upcoming discussions and will have further updates for members soon.

Know a planner who hasn’t joined?

Compulsory superannuation is a proud Australian policy. But, to ensure it is most effective, Australians need access to ethical and professional advice at their point of retirement. This must be seen as a fundamental right, just like healthcare or education.

A single planner can’t do this alone – but together, you can have a much greater influence on policy and legislation.

We have made special arrangements to represent planners in our union. Ask them to join the FSU now to help us chart the best future for you, and for Australia.

If you have any questions or want to know more about joining please contact Mark Pannowitz on 0434 165 688 or email mark.pannowitz@fsunion.org.au
