Dear Colleagues,
We have now reached agreement with Cbus management on improvements to the organisational restructure process.
You have a right to be consulted when major changes at work affect you.
FSU members met on Tuesday to talk about these proposals. We agreed on three important principles for this proposed restructure.
- We must be consulted properly on these changes – we must have the opportunity to have our say about these proposals and have our voices heard;
- People whose roles are redundant must have first opportunity to be considered for new roles being created;
- Consultation must be completed before these proposals are implemented.
Following our meeting, we had constructive dialogue with Cbus management about the contribution that you can make during this process. We discussed the importance of ensuring that anyone whose role is made redundant in this process gets first opportunity to be considered for new roles. We also talked about timing – we need time to properly consider these changes before they are implemented so that we can make informed decisions.
Cbus management has now agreed to properly consult and offer new roles to displaced people first.
- There will now be a consultation period from 3 February to 10 February 2021 – this is your opportunity to have your say about these changes and ask any questions you might have;
- If you are directly impacted by these changes, you will have access to the proposed position descriptions for the new roles;
- If Cbus decides to go ahead with these changes following the consultation period, directly impacted people will have the first opportunity to apply for roles in the new structure, or elect to take a redundancy payment;
- If the new roles cannot be filled by people directly impacted, they will be opened up to everyone in the Fund. Only after the internal application process will roles be opened up to external applicants if this is necessary.
We are pleased with the progress we have seen over the last 24 hours – you will now have the opportunity to genuinely be consulted in this process, and to have choice and control in your future at Cbus.
