…Technology staff not to be included in the current EBA, but will now start to work together towards a new EBA…
…Member Meeting next Thursday…
Following further negotiations, UniSuper management intend to put a proposal for a new enterprise agreement to staff currently covered by the old agreement.
The headline feature of the new three year agreement is three 2.75% pay increases from January 2018 (backdated), January 2019 and January 2020.
A meeting of all Finance Sector Union members will be held to hear more detail next Thursday 5 April in Room 1.07 at 2.00 pm. Please put this time in your diary now.
Other improvements are as follows:
- Increase of 8 weeks payment of employer super on parental leave – now to be 34 weeks at 17%
- Preventative health leave for prevention or screening for a medical condition now to specified as an entitlement under personal leave
- Volunteer leave increased from two days to three days per annum
- New clause for family violence leave
- Application of special leave now to specify natural disasters
Unfortunately, we have been unable to convince them to broaden the coverage of the current agreement to include Technology staff.
However, UniSuper has agreed to our suggestion that FSU Technology Staff members will join FSU Workplace Representative Matthew Rowe, Andrew Gould and your Finance Sector Union organiser and Industrial Officer to meet with UniSuper and try to resolve any current items, such as access to overtime rates, they have outside the bargaining process.
Moreover, at some future time there is no impediment to the union seeking to open a new bargaining round for Technology staff when we choose. We have advised management of this and will start to seek feedback from Finance Sector Union members in Technology around this.
For further information contact FSU Workplace Representatives Matthew Rowe, Andrew Gould, Sarah Collis, Justin Fitzgerald, Benedict Davies and Mark Houltham or call the FSU Member Rights Centre on 1300 366 378.
