Our Cbus Joint Consultative Group (JCG) met recently and had a great discussion about the different styles of return to the office. Nicole McPherson, our FSU Assistant Secretary, shared what she had seen work well and also what did NOT work so well.
Return to office mandate
After this meeting, several of you have reached out and raised concerns around some Cbus communications potentially mandating a return to the office 3 days a week.
We know many of you feel you were not properly consulted about this decision and that the communication from management could have been clearer and more consistent, as there was some confusion about where these mandates were coming from.
We have shared your concerns with the JCG.
We hope this isn’t a fait accompli based on a directive from the board or management and that our feedback from the staff survey and workshops will be taken into consideration.
We strongly encourage you to share your feedback directly with your manager or with John (john.fleming@cbussuper.com.au), who is helping P&C in the consultative process.
Solidarity with our MEX Teams
We also wanted to send a quick note of solidarity to our brothers and sisters working on insurance workloads, which are often complex issues. Thank you to those helping in other areas of the business to assist with these issues too.
EA negotiations are coming
We’re about to commence negotiations for our new Enterprise Agreement. If you are in Melbourne next Tuesday 22 August, come and meet us (your FSU Representatives!) on Level 20.
We’ll have a few nibbles and can answer any of your questions about what bargaining for our pay and conditions entails. We haven’t forgotten our comrades interstate – Laf will arrange something local for you too!
If you have access to the Cbus intranet, please check out the FSU page.
As always, if you’re not already an FSU member, join today and support the team that’s working for you.
In unity,
Bill Rue and Caroline Troup
Your FSU Representatives
