At 1:30pm today we had a bargaining meeting with Lewis Tassone (Group Executive, Finance & Technology), Natalie Strickland (Group Executive, People Performance and Culture) and Amanda Jakovac (Head of Human Resources).
In this meeting they shared that they are keen to follow the fund’s strategic objective to “invest in our people”, that all our claims were up for discussion, and they are looking to improve flexibility and improve leave provisions, including increasing domestic violence leave in the new agreement.
This is all good news but we have yet to see the detail. We are all under pressure from the rising cost of food, fuel and other basic items so we have asked Hostplus to proceed with negotiations as quickly as possible. From next week we will get into the detail of our claims including a 7% pay increase to keep up with the cost of living, a full suite of flexible work provisions and our claim of 17% Super.
Things are about to get interesting.
