The FSU Human Rights Network was launched in 2021 to empower union members in the finance industry to improve human rights.
Since then, we have taken action together on pay transparency and gender equality, climate change and in support of workers’ rights and democracy in Myanmar.
Right now, workers in Myanmar need our help.
Men, women and children in Myanmar have been living a nightmare for two years since the Myanmar military violently took power on 1 February 2021.
Since then, the regime has killed more than 2700 people, including trade unionists. 17,387 people have been arrested and 4 political prisoners have been hanged.
This week, the two-year anniversary of the violent coup, is the perfect time for the Australian government to place sanctions against this bloody regime.
But we need your help to show that we care.

The US, UK and Canada are expected to issue new rounds of sanctions on the 1 February anniversary, but Australia has not sanctioned any individuals or entities since the coup. Sanctions will cut access to foreign revenue and limit the regime’s ability to purchase weapons, as well as sending a strong message that Australia sees this regime as illegitimate.
Please show your support today.
