FSU Members reject management's latest offer

Hundreds of FSU members from across the Westpac Group met last night and rejected management’s latest EA pay offer – and committed to Vote NO if it were put to an all staff ballot. Pay, workloads and job security remain the major outstanding issues in this round of EA bargaining and Management’s latest proposal would leave Westpac Group staff far worse off.

Check out the link here to find out what members at the meeting rejected and why.

More news on pay

Today senior management had an opportunity to provide a genuine response to FSU members’ call for a real cost of living pay increase. Instead they have announced today that they will only remove the pro-rata component of the one-off cash payment. This is an insult to all staff (part-time and full-time) who will only keep up with the ongoing cost pressures of high inflation through a real increase to our base salary. Thousands of Westpac Group staff say they can’t keep their heads above water. It’s time for Senior Management to give back to staff.

Job security & workloads – Westpac announce more mass job cuts across branches

Yesterday management announced that they plan to close another 24 branches across the Group. This is devastating news for the 104 staff whose jobs are now in doubt. Please see below for the list of branches Westpac propose to close.

FSU members across the Branch network have already said that they are not coping. This is an unbelievable decision by senior Management to propose these additional mass closures when understaffing and workloads are out of control across the network.

It’s time that senior Westpac management owned up to the pay, workload and job security crisis. Their latest EA proposal will leave all of us worse off. Make sure you join with all of us by committing to Vote NO if management’s puts its EA proposal to an all-staff ballot.
