Yesterday Hostplus management rejected every one of our bargaining claims to improve our pay, superannuation and flexible working arrangements.
Hostplus say they want to be a leading industry super fund, but that does not appear to extend to our conditions.
On Pay: We are claiming a 7% pay increase to keep up with the skyrocketing cost of living. Hostplus management proposed a real wages cut for us. Meanwhile, some members of the Hostplus executive team received between 12 – 20% pay increases in just one year to June 2021.*
On Flexible work: Hostplus Management said that we are “happy” with the current flexible work arrangements. They completely rejected our call for flexible work rights to be included in our new Enterprise Agreement.
We deserve better.
We are meeting with Hostplus again next week.
We need to make it very clear that we expect a fair pay rise to keep up with our rising cost of living.
