Westpac Group: Can your boss make you take annual leave prior to 30 Sept during coronavirus?

You’re invited. Urgent FSU Information Night 22 July.

The FSU has been inundated with reports from Westpac Group Members, that the Bank is directing staff to take Annual Leave prior to 30 September 2020.

In the wake of this news, I want to invite you to an urgent information night intended to help answer any questions you have about your annual leave entitlements.

I’ve organised a specialist FSU Advocate to be present during the information session to help with your questions.

Where: Register your spot at the information night by clicking HERE.

When: 7pm (EST), Wednesday 22 July

How should annual leave work?

Members report that having choice and control over the timing of taking annual leave is important, there needs to be a fair process.  You have already told us that starting from a position of agreement is a key criteria in a fair process.

What’s next …

Whilst the Westpac Group Enterprise Agreement 2019 allows in certain circumstances, for staff to be directed to take leave, there is no provision for leave to be taken by 30 September each year. It is important you have all the facts.

  • Got a question that you know you’d like to ask? Make sure to share it, when you RSVP and we’ll do our best to cover it next week!
  • Can you help us share this information with anyone in your workplace who may be affected by this issue?
