Westpac proposing to close 15 more branches, cut 76 more jobs!

In yet another blow to community services and our jobs, Westpac has announced a proposal to close 15 more branches and cut 76 jobs across the country. The branches scheduled to close under the banks latest branch closure proposal are:

State Branch Name Brand
NSW Dural WBC
NSW Engadine STG
NSW Zetland WBC
NSW Dapto WBC
NSW Cronulla STG
QLD Upper Coomera STG
QLD Kenmore WBC
SA Seaford WBC
VIC Niddrie WBC
VIC Hampton WBC
VIC Brandon Park BoM
VIC Hastings WBC
WA Mount Hawthorn WBC
WA Baldivis WBC
WA Port Kennedy WBC

This latest round of proposed branch closures and job cuts will remove banking services from communities and cost FSU members their jobs. It all raises the question, how far is the bank prepared to go in the name of cost cutting, branch closures and job cuts? There’s also the question of the staff left behind who’ll be required to do more with less. How is this fair?

If you’ve received a notification about this and have questions or concerns, reply to this email or call the FSU on 1300 366 378.

It is vital that all affected members examine the changes and communicate any concerns we may have direct to the bank. Our union can offer advice and support for all members who are affected.

If you have any questions about your particular circumstances, or wish to clarify how this relates to your particular role, please call the FSU Member Rights Centre on 1300 366 378.
