Westpac have announced changes to the process for managing unplanned leave and allocation of relief staff. The changes will take effect from Monday 2 October and will impact staff working in Westpac Consumer retail branches.

Whilst FSU support the introduction of measures to ensure there is adequate relief staff to cover all types of leave, we are concerned that some of the steps in the new unplanned leave process being implemented by Westpac are not reasonable or consistent with Westpac Group Enterprise Agreement 2016.
Key differences between Westpac’s new unplanned leave process and the Enterprise Agreement provisions are:
