What do changes to the Branch Network Mean for You?

A number of weeks ago your Union conducted a survey of Westpac Group branch staff affected by changes introduced by the Bank.  These changes include the suspension of targets, changes to branch opening hours and new duties around customer contact over the phone.

Many of you provided invaluable feedback on the changes. Examples of this feedback can be found here.

Your union intends to meet with Management representatives to provide this feedback and seek a response. This will be done on a confidential basis where no individuals will be identified. Look out for further information from your Union on any responses from the Bank.

Virtual Banking – What does this mean for St George Branch staff?

One major issue that has been identified by many of you through this feedback process is around the introduction of Virtual Banking within St George Branches. Many of you at St George have raised concerns around what this new phone-based work means for you. Members have particularly raised concerns around the use of targets and how new anti-hawking laws might impact those performing these duties.

Your Union will be holding a Zoom meeting next week to provide an additional opportunity to discuss the broad Westpac Group changes and the recent introduction of Virtual Banking in St George branches.
