Win at IAG: No more starting before you start!

Thanks to the efforts of FSU reps Candice and Rosalynn at IAG, we’ve achieved a significant victory. IAG has clarified that employees in the Direct Claims department are not expected to log in before their rostered start time

This means you’re entitled to use the first few minutes of your shift to log in and become customer-ready, ensuring no one works unpaid time.

We know many staff have been expected to start early in the past, effectively working unpaid hours each week. This clarification is a crucial step towards consistency across the business.

“I think this precedent is important as many staff are working unpaid hours every week by using their own time to log in and become customer ready. I hope to see this change continue across the wider business to see greater consistency.” – Candice McHale, FSU Rep

No one should work for free

While this change initially applies to the Direct Claims department, our goal is to ensure this policy is applied company wide.

If your team or department are experiencing similar issues, please contact your FSU organiser Tom Clift on 0403 660 694 or at [email protected] so we can address it and make sure no one is being asked to start before they start.
