They genuinely wanted to help me achieve the best outcome

“A few years ago, I encountered some issues with my manager at NAB and decided to call the FSU for assistance.

“Immediately, I was made to feel comfortable enough to open up and discuss my concerns, and from that time until I was made redundant at the end of last year, the union was a blessing to me.

“I dedicated more than a decade of my life to NAB and when I needed help, I did not receive it from them. I did, however, receive it from the FSU. NAB put me through multiple hurdles, which I could never have overcome without the FSU’s assistance and commitment. They gave me so much guidance and it was obvious that the industrial officer assigned to my case genuinely wanted to help me achieve the best outcome.

“The union fought for my rights and guided me every step of the way. This included submitting forms, attending meetings, having one-on-one phone calls, making recommendations, and validating and answering my numerous questions.

“Most importantly, this support helped me with my mental health during what was one of the worst periods of my life. I wasn’t in a good place and the way the union dealt with me was very professional and empathetic.”

With sincere gratitude,

An FSU member and former NAB employee
