Recently, we met with Brighter Super management to continue Enterprise Agreement negotiations on on redundancy, flexibility, superannuation, and hybrid working arrangements.
Brighter’s most alarming proposal is on redundancy pay, which currently falls shockingly short of what other funds offer – see for yourself below.
* After 10 years of service, paid redundancy entitlements are reduced to 12 weeks.
Brighter Super is proposing the legal bare minimum – the National Employment Standards (NES) redundancy payment of up to 16 weeks for those with 9 to10 years of service (or 12 weeks for those with over 10 years’ service), while existing employees keep their current retrenchment cap. This would mean an unfair 2-tier system of retrenchment payments.
Brighter Super Management obviously don’t think we’re ALL worthy of decent redundancy pay.
