Influencing vital laws at Vic Labor State Conference

Earlier this month, a delegation of FSU members attended the Victorian Labor State Conference.

State Conference is where the Victorian Labor Party forms its policy positions and agenda. It’s one of the ways we make sure the voices of finance workers are heard, and how we influence laws to improve the lives of all FSU members.

We were proud to speak in favour of two important resolutions to help FSU members:

  • Protecting the Victorian workers’ compensation scheme from Government attacks: We are fighting to make sure our workers’ compensation scheme helps you get better, whether your injury is physical or psychological.
  • Banning non-disclosure agreements in cases of gendered violence in the workplace: Non-disclosure agreements harm victim survivors and silence them. We are advocating for all victim survivors to be able to tell their story.

We were also proud to support resolutions to create more affordable housing, increase action on climate change, and to protect gig platform workers.
