QBE job cuts – FSU support

Over the last few weeks, QBE has proposed that up to 49 jobs will be made redundant due to restructuring, with 148 roles impacted.

QBE has announced that these cuts will occur across two areas – one in the AUPAC Business, predominantly claims, and the other in Consumer, Finance and Underwriting and Transformation business units.

Management has initiated a consultation period with affected employees and our union is now seeking feedback from members.

If you are impacted by these proposed job cuts, we understand this is difficult news to hear. Let us know if you have any questions or concerns so that we can put them to QBE management. This is your opportunity to have your say, and to ask any questions or provide feedback on these proposals.

Yes, I’m impacted by these cuts

Our advice to anyone impacted by these proposed job cuts is to engage in the consultation process – ask management questions about their proposal, how this will impact you, and what measures they will take to ensure these impacts are minimised. Remember to put this in writing. If you do not believe you have sufficient information or time for genuine consultation, tell your employer and ask for information and more time.

Remember, you have rights and entitlements when things change at work, and our union will ensure your voice is heard during this process. Please contact our Member Rights Centre on 1300 366 378 if you require urgent advice or assistance, or complete the above feedback form.
