Record pay increases for workers on collective agreements

New data shows just how much difference union membership makes to our pay and quality of life.

In the past three months, average pay rises for workers covered by new collective agreements reached 4.3%. That’s the highest it’s ever been in 15 years!

This is thanks to the bargaining power of unions. There’s now a greater proportion of workers in Australia covered by collective agreements – 227,000 more than at the same time last year. As a result, we’re winning higher pay.
