A Senate Inquiry has this month been launched to look into the impact of menopause and perimenopause on women’s health, finances, careers and wellbeing.
The inquiry will be tasked with telling the federal government how it can improve access to treatment and workplace policies.
This is a huge step forward in furthering conversations around this important topic.
As members will be aware, the FSU has campaigned strongly on this issue and helped pave the way in ensuring progressive leave options like paid menstrual and menopause are available to workers.
Our conversations around the impact of menstruation and menopause on workers’ lives is what has attracted the attention of our policymakers, who have in turn called for this vital inquiry.
The FSU will be making a submission to the inquiry based on the anonymous experiences and information you’ve shared with us through our survey.
