Unity Bank EA: Your rights and protections are at risk
Negotiations for a new Unity Bank Enterprise Agreement (EA) have now begun.
Unity Bank employees who are covered by the current Unity Bank Enterprise Agreement 2023-2026 are invited to attend an important stop-work union meeting.
The meeting is to discuss the current status of negotiations for our new Enterprise Agreement, including what we need to do to ensure we receive the pay and working conditions we deserve.
Our current Enterprise Agreement allows employees to call a stop-work meeting to discuss issues around workplace and union matters, and these meetings can be held during paid work hours. If you're not sure whether you're covered by the Unity Bank 2023-2026 Agreement, please reply to this email and we will assist.
As part of negotiations for our first combined Unity Bank Enterprise Agreement, management is proposing that the entitlements set out in the old G&C Agreement form the basis of our new Agreement.
FSU members strongly reject this. The entitlements in the old Unity Bank Agreement are far superior – and while management is proposing to grandfather them for applicable employees, this would create a two-tiered situation where former G&C employees receive lesser entitlements.
Therefore, we’re seeking that the superior Unity Bank entitlements form the basis of our new Agreement instead.
To ensure you understand exactly what’s at stake and what we need to do next, please register for our meeting.
All Unity Bank employees currently covered by the Unity Bank Enterprise Agreement 2023-2026 are encouraged to attend – so please forward this email to your colleagues and ask them to register.
Former G&C Mutual Bank employees do not currently have the right to attend in paid time but are welcome to do so in their own time.
If you’re not yet a member of our union, now is the time to join to ensure you’re protected during this crucial stage of negotiations.
See you online next week.
