Negotiations with MUFG Retirement Solutions have been stalled for weeks now, as management refuses to propose an acceptable offer that includes fair pay rises and improvements to our working conditions.
Our union is writing to the major superannuation funds who use MUFG about MUFG RSS’s disappointing responses and approach to negotiations.
It’s been delay after delay and MUFG RSS employees cannot wait any longer. So we’re putting forward a settlement offer to management.
Here is what’s included in our offer…
Flexible and blended work:
- A genuine entitlement to work from home in our enterprise agreement.
- The ability for all employees to access flexible work hours and locations. Flexible work must be determined through consultation, and arrangements must meet the needs of MUFG and the employee.
- No employee will be required to work more than 50% in the office unless the employee requests to do so.
Pay: A guaranteed pay increase that keeps pace with the cost of living and rewards our contribution to MUFG of:
- January 2025 – 4.5%
- January 2026 – 4.5%
- January 2027 – 3.5%
Protection when things change at work:
- Redundancy entitlements that accrue at three weeks per year of service, with a cap of 52 weeks.
- No rights for MUFG to make changes to work location and duties without employee agreement.
Superannuation: Contributions of 2% on top of the superannuation guarantee.
Overtime and TOIL: Available to all staff earning up to the high income threshold (currently $175,000).
Parental leave: 22 weeks of gender neutral parental leave.
Progressive leave: Reproductive health care leave, cultural and religious diversity leave, gender affirmation leave and First Nations leave included in our agreement.
AI: Entitlements to have a say in how AI is used at MUFG, and to receive training and development to prepare for the jobs of the future.
If management truly respects their employees and the work we do, they will agree to the above pay and conditions. The ball is now in their court.
Remember, there is strength in numbers, and we have a far better chance of securing a positive outcome if all MUFG RSS employees stand united and work together. If you’re not yet a member of the team fighting for a fair deal at MUFG RSS, now is the time to join.
