Our union has filed two disputes against CBA regarding the bank’s outrageous decisions to offshore Australian jobs and replace roles with AI. One of these disputes has been escalated to the Fair Work Commission.
To strengthen our cases, we need evidence from you.
My job has been impacted by offshoring or AI because…
Whether your workload or customer complaints have increased due to offshoring, or you know a colleague who lost their job because of offshoring or AI, sharing your experience will strengthen our case.
Please also ask your colleagues to take a few minutes to share their experience.
What are our disputes about?
Our first dispute is regarding CBA’s so-called ‘genuine redundancies’. By making hundreds of jobs ‘redundant’ and then advertising them overseas, CBA has breached our Enterprise Agreement.
Our second dispute is regarding the 45 roles being replaced by AI. Despite us seeking more information, CBA has failed to provide evidence to substantiate its claim that the voice bot has reduced call volumes by 2000 per week.
The bank is also refusing to provide its health and safety risk assessment, or even explain how roles were selected for redundancy. The bank is also hiring similar roles with messaging duties at CBA India.
What happens now?
Thank you to those members who attended our union meetings last week. Together, we discussed a strategy to push back against CBA’s reckless anti-jobs agenda.
Depending on how our disputes progress, FSU members also endorsed a further escalation strategy.
Remember, your words carry the most power. Your voice needs to be heard. Please share your story and help strengthen our disputes against CBA.
