SS&C restructures and redundancies: urgent consultation meetings
Latest news SS&C restructures and redundancies: urgent consultation meetings 10 July 2026 Member…
We’ve now lodged an application with the Fair Work Commission (FWC) for an extension of the AMP-GIO 2000 Enterprise Agreement (EA).As you know, this Agreement has been around for a very long time and is scheduled to terminate on 7 December 2023 (known as a “Zombie Agreement”), unless the FWC approves our extension request.
Our EA is an old one, but still has important conditions that we need to keep, such as our redundancy entitlements. Remember, these entitlements are not secure or guaranteed if they are in policy. This is why we need to extend the EA – so our entitlements are legally protected.
If you missed our previous update on this issue, you can read it here.
The FWC has many applications to process so this may take some time. Send us your details so we can keep you up to date as the application progresses.
We’ve asked AMP to bargain with us for a new modern EA that would secure pay and conditions for AMP staff – but they refused. Instead, they say the minimum conditions set out in the Award and those in policy (which are not legally enforceable) suit them better.
But there are some big differences between an EA, the minimum Award conditions, and what’s contained in policy.
This is why we need to save our Zombie Agreement, and bring AMP back to the table to negotiate a new and progressive EA.
