Westpac extends moratorium on bank closures

This month, Westpac announced an extension of its moratorium on regional branch closures until at least 2027.

The Senate Inquiry into regional branch closures has highlighted the impact of the closures on communities in its report this month. The FSU is calling on Federal Financial Services Minister Stephen Jones to take immediate action to fully implement the recommendations of the inquiry committee. Find out more here.
