Westpac offshores more jobs – are you impacted?

Last week, Westpac announced they intend to cut and offshore 45 jobs from Consumer Finance Operations and Institutional Banking Payment Services & Operations across the Parramatta, Kogarah, and Melbourne offices.

The decision to offshore these jobs to Genpact and Concentrix comes on the heels of over 1000 job cuts in 2023. Westpac’s cynical cost-cutting exercise to use cheaper labour overseas comes at the expense of all Westpac workers. It is disrespectful of the contributions made by those of us impacted, particularly when there are viable alternatives that prioritise job retention and investment in Westpac staff.
