Our dispute against AMP to force an Enterprise Agreement

After two years of AMP refusing to negotiate an Enterprise Agreement (EA), we’ve dragged them to the Fair Work Commission (FWC).

Last week, the FWC held a hearing to determine our application for a majority determination to force AMP to the bargaining table.

What’s our dispute about?

An employer can be forced to negotiate an EA if enough employees call for it and the FWC grants a ‘majority support determination’.

That’s exactly what we’ve done, with the majority of employees at an important team at AMP recently signing a petition to bargain.

AMP is fighting our application every step of the way. You have to ask – why are they so scared of bargaining? What’s their problem with us having a say?

Why do we need an EA?

An EA means we negotiate our pay and conditions for everyone which are then locked in and cannot be changed on a whim.

Recent actions by AMP – including asking workers to sign one of the worst individual employment contracts our union has ever seen – suggests we need the protection that comes with an EA now more than ever.

You can help make this happen by adding your name to our growing list of AMP employees telling us they want to be protected by an EA.

We are now waiting to receive the FWC’s judgment. But whatever the outcome, we all deserve an enterprise agreement at AMP and we will keep fighting until we achieve it.
