Barely a handful of days since AMP posted a $236 million yearly profit, it has announced plans to outsource 20 roles that will be offshored, as outlined below:
- Customer Service Consultant (level 2) x 10
- Customer Service Lead (level 3) x 2
- Home Loan Associate (level 3) x 3
- Home Loan Specialist – Existing Clients (level 4) x 2
- Home Loan Specialist (level 4 – vacant) x 1
- Direct Sales Manager (level 5 – vacant) x 1
- Senior Business Development Manager (level 5) x 1
The FSU has confirmed with AMP that the roles of Customer Service Lead and Direct Sales Manager will be removed from the structure, with all other roles being reduced.
AMP has admitted that they are sending these 20 jobs offshore to achieve cheaper labour costs, and “greater ability to scale and attract talent overseas resulting in an improved customer experience”.
The FSU condemns this decision. We understand it will have significant impacts on workers’ lives and livelihoods, and is devastating to those affected employees. It’s been mere days since AMP posted a profit that is in the hundreds of millions, it can well afford to keep these skilled jobs in Australia.
