Suncorp Insurance has confirmed that 30 out of 70 Assessing Coordinator jobs will be cut from the Motor Claims team (ASCO) and certain work functions will be offshored.
Outrageously, this follows a previous attempt by Suncorp to offshore Motor Claims jobs a few years ago, which union members successfully fought against. Management has now chosen to have another go!
It’s a slap in the face, and we understand this is difficult news for affected employees to hear.
What’s Suncorp proposing?
Suncorp Insurance has initiated a consultation period with employees and our union is now seeking feedback from members. Questions and concerns already raised by FSU members relate to the short consultation period, the business case for the proposal to offshore, and their future employment at Suncorp.
The FSU will be raising these issues with management and seeking a response. We will keep impacted members updated on this over the coming days.
Support and your entitlements
In the meantime, our union is here for you should you require support.
If you are impacted by these proposed job cuts, let us know if you have any questions or concerns for Suncorp before we respond this week.
