BOQ’s plan: Out with OMB, in with corporate

As you know, BOQ Corporate announced that 114 Owner Managed Branches (OMB) will be taken over and converted into corporate branches by March 2025. This marks a significant reversal of BOQ’s strategy over the past 20 years of transitioning towards the OMB model.

At this stage, limited information has been provided beyond the announcement, but we have serious concerns for the future of the BOQ branch network. BOQ has not ruled out possible branch closures, which leaves many concerning questions unanswered.

We need to hold the bank accountable and ensure that any processes, whether redeployment or retrenchment, are fair and transparent. Now, more than ever, it’s crucial that we stand together and speak up about the issues affecting us. Share your thoughts and concerns below.

What are your concerns?

As a group, we need to be able to communicate quickly and effectively in order to make collective decisions. In order to do this we need workplace leaders to step forward and represent our colleagues. If you’re ready to take that step, send an email to [email protected] and one of our team will be in touch.

We know this can be an uncertain time so it’s more important than ever that we stand together – this is the best way we can hold the bank accountable and ensure our concerns are responded to.
