CBA doesn’t care about your job security

Since February, our union has been negotiating with CBA on our next Enterprise Agreement, which will determine our future wages and working condition for the next few years.

Our current 2023 Agreement reached its nominal expiry on 30 June but continues to apply until our new Agreement is in place.

Unfortunately, CBA has so far rejected most of our asks, including critical job security protections, and greater flexibility and working from home rights (all of which were informed by your direct feedback at the start of this process).

CBA is refusing to:

  • commit to anything new that provides you with job security
  • commit to additional protections against AI
  • commit to no further offshoring or extending the branch closure moratorium
  • remove their arbitrary in-office attendance requirement.

We have not yet received a pay position from CBA.

It’s clear that CBA does not want to make any significant changes to the Enterprise Agreement that address employees’ key concerns. Their preference is to keep the status quo – which has already seen 800 jobs cut this year, more work offshored to CBA India, and branches close across the country.

To understand exactly where CBA stands – and most importantly how we can shift their position – please register and attend your preferred FSU information session.

Remember, CBA employees do have a voice and we can shift the bank’s position – but we must come together for this crucial stage in the negotiations process. Please share this update with your colleagues and encourage them to join the FSU today.
