We’ve had our first conference at the Fair Work Commission (FWC) for our dispute against CBA regarding its so-called ‘genuine’ redundancies.
These redundancies are impacting workers in technology while jobs are being advertised at CBA India.
An outcome of that conference is that CBA will provide us, in writing, a clear explanation of the proposed redundancies in Australia and how these are different from those at CBA India.
We are also to provide CBA with questions on behalf of members about the bank’s proposed plans. This is our chance to get some real answers from CBA about how and why these ‘genuine’ redundancies occurred.
Please come along to our snap union meeting this Thursday. It’s your opportunity to tell us what questions you want CBA to answer, and we’ll also provide a detailed update on our FWC disputes.
Thursday 14 August, 6pm (AEST)
Our next hearing at the FWC for our second dispute (regarding job cuts due to AI) will be held on 25 August. Stay tuned for more important updates soon.
In the meantime, if you haven’t shared your experience regarding offshoring and AI at CBA,there’s still time to do so anonymously here.
