“We are not transferring all of our roles to India.”

CBA doesn’t care about your job security
Since February, our union has been negotiating with CBA on our next Enterprise…
“We are not transferring all of our roles to India.”
That’s what CBA Chairman Paul O’Malley told us just last week when we asked him to commit to keeping Australian jobs in Australia at CBA’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Less than 24 hours later, CBA announced more jobs were being sent offshore from Bankwest to CBA India. It’s hypocrisy at its finest.

Mr O’Malley tried to dodge our question by saying CBA jobs were only sent overseas if there weren’t the Australian staff “at scale” to do them.
But the last Bankwest branch closed at the end of last month, and plenty of skilled workers were made redundant.
What’s more, CBA committed to the Western Australian Government that an additional 500 CBA group roles would be in WA – yet we now have work that could be done by WA people being done overseas.
We’re calling on CBA to come clean and justify why they’re breaking the commitment Mr O’Malley made only last week.
During the AGM we also asked CBA questions about wage theft, their 30% gender pay gap, bank closures and AI. Watch CBA’s responses here and see whether you think they stack up.
