Daney Faddoul, Campaign Manager at the Human Rights Law Centre and former FSU official, joined us to unpack what a Human Rights Act is, why Australia still doesn’t have one, and what stronger human rights protections could mean for finance workers.
The conversation looks at issues that are becoming increasingly important in our workplaces, including privacy and workplace surveillance, AI and emerging technologies, and freedom of association and our right to organise.
Daney also shares examples of how existing human rights laws in Victoria, Queensland and the ACT are already making a practical difference in people’s lives.
Our Human Rights Network brings FSU members together to take action on human rights issues in Australia and internationally, from the campaign for an Australian Human Rights Act to our solidarity work with workers and communities in Myanmar and beyond.
