BOQ has outrageously rejected almost everything we’re seeking in our new Enterprise Agreement.
It is clear that management has no positive plan to support or reward employees, let alone any genuine desire to improve our pay and working conditions at BOQ.
Meanwhile, CEO Patrick Allaway is leaving BOQ. After cutting hundreds of BOQ jobs, sending our jobs All-away offshore and refusing to commit to not doing it again, he’s now up and leaving behind a mess!
We need all BOQ employees to support our campaign for better pay and conditions so that management takes our demands seriously.
Yes, I support our campaign
What has BOQ management rejected?
Pay and rewards
- Rejected our call for 5% wage increases and back pay.
- Rejected our claim for transparent pay, rewards and classification structures.
- Rejected any adjustments to current band/pay structure.
- Rejected our claim for you to have the right to request a pay review.
Secure jobs
- Refused to commit to no further outsourcing or offshoring.
- Refused to commit to no reduction in retail branches.
- Refused to commit to no redundancies due to AI.
- Refused to improve their change and redundancy process.
Flexibility
- Refused to commit to no change to the office attendance requirement.
- Rejected any additional flexible work options, such as a nine-day fortnight, RDOs or four-day work week.
Skills, training and career development
- Refused to include anything in the Agreement that supports your career development.
Staffing and workload relief
- Refused to do anything to address staffing and workload concerns.
By rejecting the above, it is clear that BOQ would rather continue with its current agenda of:
- prioritising job cuts, offshoring and branch closures.
- making decisions that impact you without first hearing your views.
- hiding behind an opaque pay and classification structure.
- making you work longer, harder and without sufficient resources.
We should all be outraged by management’s complete dismissal of our genuine attempts to make our working lives better at BOQ. Let us know you’re with us so we can push back and convince management to get serious.
