Will we see you there this Labour Day?
It’s nearly time! Join us this Labour Day Labour Day events are kicking…
The FSU proudly walked home with an armful of top acknowledgements at the Queensland Unions Labour Day Awards last week!
Congratulations to FSU member Kathryn Sullivan who clinched the Outstanding Delegate or Activist of the Year Award for her incredible bravery in fighting back after her role at CBA was replaced by an AI chatbot.
Over the course of weeks, Kathryn courageously shared her story with countless national media outlets and federal politicians to help drive change and ensure other finance workers wouldn’t have to go through what she did. Read Kathryn’s story here.
Our groundbreaking report on sexual harassment in the finance industry, Spin vs reality, snagged the Best Union Publication Award – the second year in a row that we’ve won in this category.
The report examines how employers are responding to their positive duty obligations to prevent sexual harassment, and how this compares to the lived experiences of finance workers. Read the report here.
Lastly, our very own FSU Executive Manager Mel Brown snagged the Kath Nelson Award (Highly Commended) for her unwavering dedication and commitment to unionism and social justice. A well-deserved acknowledgement for someone who is a true champion of working people.
Well done all!
