As you know, the current HBF Enterprise Agreement (EA) 2021 expires in November. As your bargaining representative, the FSU has been negotiating the terms of your new EA with HBF.
So far there have been three bargaining meetings, and HBF has proposed the following changes:
Revising the grading structure:
- HBF proposes revising the salary bands, changing the minimum and maximum for each grade (the cut-off salary of $135,746 will remain unchanged and as it was in 2021).
- The number of grades will be reduced from 11 to 6. The numbering will also be reversed, making grade 6 the highest and grade 11 the lowest.
Changes to salary increases:
- HBF proposes not paying salary increases to anyone earning 10% more than the maximum for their grade, instead offering a lump sum over the life of the enterprise agreement. This will have a flow-on effect on the amount of super you’ll receive. Currently, base salary increases apply even if you are over the maximum for your grade.
- HBF also wants the ability to withhold increases from anyone who has received a final written warning for misconduct in the 12 months prior to a pay increase.
- Significantly, HBF proposes removing CPI from the EA. This means all pay increases and allowances will be fixed amounts rather than the higher of the fixed amount or CPI. The proposed salary increases for this EA are 3% in year one, 3.5% in year two, and 2.5% in year three.
Coverage:
- Employees earning more than $135,746 will not be covered by the current or new EA.
- If you’re not covered by the new EA, entitlements such as guaranteed yearly pay increases and redundancy pay will not apply and will depend on your contract, policies or HBF’s discretion.
- Other above-award entitlements will also be determined by your contract and HBF’s workplace policies.
Your feedback is crucial. We want to hear your thoughts on HBF’s proposed changes to present your views at the next bargaining meeting scheduled for Friday 12 July. Please provide your feedback by Thursday 11 July.
