IAG – Further improvements to proposed IAG EA – FSU meetings

As a result of recent member meetings and FSU feedback forums, IAG management has responded with further improvements to their Enterprise Agreement (EA) proposal.

These improvements are a direct result of the actions taken by FSU members across the country. Our FSU National Representative Committee have now considered these improvements and have a final package to report to members.

Make sure you register for one of our online meetings below:

Wednesday 3 July, 7pm (AEST)

Thursday 4 July, 12.30pm (AEST)

What are the changes in this proposal?

While further improvements are still needed, together we have made significant enhancements to our existing EA. Some of these changes include:

  • A fixed minimum pay increase of 9.5% over three years for career bands 1-3 and 7.5% for career bands 4-5. Discretionary pay arrangements will continue to apply above these minimum rates. While we will need to continue to build the guaranteed fix component of our pay increases in the years to come, this proposal is a significant improvement to the 2021 EA which provided a 4.75% minimum increase over the same period.

  • IAG have agreed to remove the cap for employees at the top of their salary band so all employees will now receive increases to their base pay.

  • An increase to paid parental leave from 14 to 20 weeks with the removal of the 12-month qualifying period in the current EA. The paid parental leave clause will now be gender neutral to allow wider access. This proposal would put IAG ahead of many other employers within the industry. In agreeing to increase this leave, IAG have removed the existing “welcome back” payment.

  • An increase to family and domestic violence (DFV) leave from 10 days leave to uncapped leave. This is an industry leading proposal. The proposed package also introduces 10 days DFV leave for those supporting others.

  • The introduction of five days “MyLeave” that can be used for any purpose with any single day taken without management approval required. This replaces the four days of family/emergency leave that exists in the current EA.

  • Inclusion of work from home within the EA for the first time.

We have a lot more work to do in the coming year to improve our working lives at IAG. Find out more about how we plan to do this by registering for our online sessions above.
