MyState abandons its credibility. Our vote of no confidence

When it comes to good-faith negotiations for our new wages and conditions, MyState management has abandoned their credibility by turning their back on workers.

Not only has MyState refused to listen to our decisive ‘no’ vote back in June, they’ve now thrown a tantrum by putting forward a new proposal that is substantially worse and threatens to strip away our important entitlements

This proposal is blatantly disrespectful and demonstrates that MyState is prepared to treat employees with disdain.

Regretfully, MyState’s appalling behaviour – along with its petty delays in returning to negotiations – has left our union with zero confidence in management’s approach going forward.

Which is why our union is once again urgently seeking the intervention of the Fair Work Commission.

What is MyState’s proposal?

  • A pay position that is worse than the offer we rejected – offering the same 9% but reneging on the 1 July 2025 increase date.
  • Unsubstantiated claims that MyState’s so-called ‘bucket of money’ remains the same and the offer can only be improved by:
    • removing employees from the coverage of the Agreement
    • extending hours of work, meaning you could be working later and on weekends without penalties or overtime
    • requiring a minimum four-day office attendance (it’s not clear how this would expand MyState’s ‘bucket of money’)
    • removing company bonuses
    • cutting long service leave entitlements for new staff
    • cutting your personal/sick leave by two days
    • cutting redundancy payments from 40 weeks to 16 weeks.

MyState’s profits soared by a whopping 17% in the past 12 months. Proposing to trade away basic conditions to reach modest improvements like fair pay is completely unacceptable. It’s an appalling approach, one which proves that MyState has no intention of negotiating in good faith.
