After eight weeks of delays from MyState and our union lodging a dispute in the Fair Work Commission, MyState finally turned up to negotiations last week for our new Enterprise Agreement.
It is outrageous that it has taken this long for management to return to the table, following an overwhelming 80% of us rejecting MyState’s dud offer back in June.
Even more outrageous is that management could not answer two basic questions we posed to them at last week’s meeting:
- What is MyState’s new proposal/agenda?
- Will MyState honour its original proposal and commit to backpay from 1 July 2025?
Please rest assured that your FSU bargaining team (including employee representatives) presented a strong, united front, and expressed these concerns loud and clear at the meeting. We hope management will start reading the room and approach these negotiations with the respect and priority we deserve.
Where to from here?
In good news, MyState has agreed to meet with us each Thursday, so we’re expecting things to speed up from here. MyState has also said they will reveal their new position at this week’s meeting.
Our dispute in the Fair Work Commission remains open and we will continue to update the Commissioner on the progress of negotiations.
In the meantime, please share this update with your colleagues and ask them to join our union today.
