MyState: The good news and bad news

We’ve got some good news to share with you.

MyState management has backed down on some elements of their latest disgraceful Enterprise Agreement proposals. Specifically, they are no longer proposing to change our working hours or introduce a mandatory four-day in-office mandate.

But there’s also some bad news. MyState continues to refer to their limited ‘bucket of money’, which management ludicrously claims can only be expanded by removing our bonuses and cutting our long service leave, personal leave and redundancy payments.

Rather than tap into the bank’s readily available $41 million profit (or the $20 – $25 million in savings due to the merger) to provide us the fair pay and conditions we deserve, management outrageously asked staff to identify which cuts we would rather tolerate instead.

The one thing we can agree on with MyState is that some intervention by the Fair Work Commission is required to hopefully assist in reaching a suitable outcome in these negotiations.

MyState’s AGM

MyState’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Tuesday 21 October in Hobart. This is a chance to apply some pressure to the MyState board in a public forum and demand answers to our most pressing questions.

If you’d like to attend the AGM as part of an FSU delegation, please email [email protected] and let us know.
