The NSW Government has introduced a bill that would make it harder for seriously injured workers to get the long-term care and support they need.
One proposed change would raise the threshold for psychological injury support from 15% to 31% impairment – a level that would shut out 95% of workers from accessing long-term mental health care.
This includes workers suffering from trauma, PTSD and other psychological harm caused by their jobs. All to save the government some money.
These cuts would fall hardest on frontline and essential workers who deal with the mental health impacts of their work every day.
