Our Bankwest wages have gone backwards – Commit to vote no

Since 2021, our wages have suffered a real wage decline because our pay increases have not kept up with the growing cost of living.

This has meant a 5.8% decline in our real wages when compared with inflation.

What does this mean for my salary?

  • If you earned $70,000 in 2021, it has gone backwards by more than $4000 due to inflation.
  • If you earned $80,000 in 2021, it has gone backwards by more than $5000 due to inflation.
  • If you earned $90,000 in 2021, it has gone backwards by more than $5500 due to inflation.

Bankwest’s proposed wage increases for our new Bankwest Enterprise Agreement 2021 (EA) don’t go far enough as they fail to recognise below inflation wage increases from previous years.

What’s worse is that they are proposing to pay us less as we earn more.

Take a look at what they’re proposing here.

Bankwest workers deserve better

This is just another reason to Vote No should CBA put its dodgy deal to a ballot.
