Our dispute with Bendigo Bank – FAQs, Tech union meeting

There is widespread outrage, frustration and anxiety across the Bendigo Bank workforce due to management's appalling lack of transparency regarding its proposed cuts and outsourcing to Infosys and Genpact.

Employees turned out in huge numbers to our FSU meeting last week, where members expressed their concerns and we discussed your rights and next steps.

FSU members can access our detailed FAQs here, where we address various issues raised at this session. We have also put questions to Bendigo Bank to seek clarification on numerous issues that remain unanswered.

Our dispute with Bendigo Bank

Our union wholly rejects Bendigo Bank’s proposed cuts and changes and has initiated a dispute with the bank regarding their lack of consultation. These changes have clearly been in the works for months, and informing staff and the union as an afterthought is simply unacceptable.

Specifically, we have demanded:

  • further details regarding the work that Technology staff will be expected to do for Infosys, including job descriptions.
  • the full Infosys terms and conditions, including contracts.
  • an extension to the consultation period so Technology workers can consider the full information during this period.

We are awaiting management’s position and may escalate our dispute further if the response is unacceptable.

FSU meeting next week – Technology workers

Technology employees who are impacted by these changes are encouraged to register below and attend an urgent FSU meeting on Monday next week (via Microsoft Teams), where we will provide an update on our dispute, discuss next steps and answer any further questions.

The FSU will also be holding future meetings on job security and your redundancy rights and entitlements – so if you’re not directly impacted by these latest changes but want to stay informed, please keep an eye out for details.

And if you’re not yet a member of our union, now is the time to join to ensure you receive the support and protection you need.
