Pay negotiations begin as Westpac rakes in $3.3 billion in profits

Negotiations begin this week following Westpac’s announcement of a massive half yearly profit of $3.3 billion!

Make no mistake, these profits are undoubtedly thanks to the hard work, resilience, and dedication of every FSU member across the organisation.

But we’re getting no thanks from Westpac.

Instead, our wages fail to keep up with the cost of living and continue to fall behind our industry colleagues.

Westpac, we have a problem

Thousands of Westpac staff completed our FSU survey in preparation for negotiations with the bank this year on our new Enterprise Agreement.

Only 35% of respondents described Westpac’s overall culture as good or excellent.

When it comes to pay, 88% of you have said that our pay increases need to keep up with the cost of living but this isn’t happening.

At a time when the bank is announcing record profits, it can and should be investing in FSU members.

It’s time for Westpac to step up on pay. Support our campaign for fair pay and ask your colleagues to do the same.
