RACQ to provide 3.25% pay rise
You may have seen RACQ’s announcement that they will provide a one-off 3.25%…
As you may be aware, RACQ has confirmed they will not be negotiating a new enterprise agreement with us before the merger with IAG.
Instead, they have committed to providing RACQ employees (normally eligible under the enterprise agreement) a one-off administrative pay increase in June 2025.
RACQ workers deserve to be recognised for the enormous contribution made over the last few years and in the lead up to this major change in 2025. Our FSU Representatives have stressed the need for a fair and decent pay rise and have called on RACQ management to step up on pay.
FSU Representatives will continue seeking members’ views on any pay announcements from management over the coming weeks. Look out for upcoming union information and feedback forums.
Many RACQ employees will likely move across to IAG sometime after August this year. This decision by RACQ not to negotiate a new agreement before then will mean that these employees will transition across to IAG under the current RACQ enterprise agreement conditions. It will be critical that all of us in this situation prepare for what’s next at IAG. Look out for further FSU information.
For those remaining at RACQ, management have committed to negotiate a new enterprise agreement. Importantly, this new agreement must retain and improve upon all working conditions and entitlements that RACQ employees currently have. We will be seeking feedback from members on what our union position will in the lead up to negotiations.
In light of the major change and uncertainty that lies ahead, it is disappointing that RACQ has recently announced 16 positions will be cut from the Comprehensive Third Party (CTP) Insurance Team.
The right thing for RACQ to do is redeploy all impacted CTP employees who wish to remain within the organisation. Our FSU Representatives are engaging with management over this latest announcement and supporting impacted members.
