Remember when AIA tried to make us take 60% of our leave?

Remember our hard-fought win last year at AIA that saved staff from having to use an additional five days of annual leave?

FSU members pushed back against management’s plan to extend the shutdown (or ‘slowdown’) period, which would have forced staff to take 12 days of leave – a whopping 60% of our yearly annual leave entitlement.

Now, we’re pleased to confirm that AIA has agreed to carry on this reduction this year and keep the slowdown period the same. This means you will only need to use seven days of annual leave rather than 12.

FSU members really stepped up last year and held AIA to account. By providing in-depth feedback and proving it was an issue deeply felt by staff, we were able to reverse management’s decision and protect our annual leave.

This is what union members do – we make sure everyone gets a fair go.

We’re strongest when we all work together, so if you’re not yet part of the team that’s winning for AIA staff, join today.

Congratulations to FSU members for what we achieved last year. It continues to pay off!
