MyState’s offer for our new Enterprise Agreement will be put to a ballot later this month. This is our opportunity to decisively reject it.
Voting ‘no’ will force management back to the table with a clear message from employees: we deserve fair pay and conditions and an EA that addresses our legitimate concerns.
Here’s why we’re voting NO to MyState’s offer:
- MyState effectively wants to rollover the existing terms and conditions of our current EA for the next three years.
- Proposed pay increases of 4%, 3%, and 2% are insufficient and don’t address our declining wages over the past three years.
- MyState:
- refuses to include in the EA the right to dispute your pay level if you don’t think it’s right.
- refuses to include anything in the EA about flexibility, and won’t commit to anything regarding remote work/working from home.
- refuses to increase paid parental leave to at least 16 weeks to remain competitive with other employers.
- refuses to address staffing and workload issues.
- refuses to agree to any additional leave, including family planning, reproductive health, First Nations, and gender affirmation leave.
- refuses to enshrine any policies in our EA, meaning management can change them at will without negotiation.
Important information for Auswide employees:
- When the merger occurred, Auswide employees who work part-time lost the ability to be paid overtime for working beyond their contracted hours. According to MyState, the average value per part time employee who worked overtime in 2024 was nearly $6000. We are seeking to have this right reintroduced in our new EA.
- From 1 July 2025, MyState will no longer provide four wellness days to Auswide staff. This entitlement is essential for employee wellbeing and our union believes it should be introduced across the organisation.
