Reminder: Information about our new CBA Agreement

This is our worst fears come true – and it’s happening now. Finance jobs are being replaced by AI.
In an outrageous move, CBA has announced it will replace 45 roles with a newly introduced voice bot – the first example of jobs being lost as a direct result of AI.
This is part of yet another round of ruthless job cuts affecting a total of 90 roles. This includes cutting local Customer Messaging Specialist roles – a role that is also performed in CBA India.
This comes off the back of our union exposing CBA for offshoring hundreds of jobs overseas to India.
If you haven’t already registered for tomorrow’s important union meeting, please do so now. We’ll be discussing our plan to call CBA out on its reckless job cutting agenda – which we now know involves both offshoring and AI.
If you’re in Sydney, you can alsoattend our in-person meeting at Foundry worksite at 12.30pm (AEST).
We are horrified by the direction CBA is moving. If this is what increasing productivity at CBA looks like, then the idea of CEO Matt Comyn having a seat at the government’s productivity roundtable next month is deeply disturbing.
We urgently need regulation to ensure AI is used ethically. That means retraining and upskilling workers into new roles, not replacing them to make a quick buck.
Our union continues to represent your voice at the highest levels of government to ensure our politicians and key decision-makers understand that our jobs are at stake.
But we can’t shift the tide without your support.Come along to our meeting tomorrow to find out how you can help.
